The Mooresville Graded School District was charted 1905 with the corner stone for the first school laid in 1907. This building was utilized as Mooresville Central High School until the current Mooresville High School building was completed in the late 1950s to 1960s. The building was located at the corner of North Moore and North Academy Streets where the Mooresville branch of Mitchell Junior College is currently located. Schooling for grades 1-9 was provided for an enrollment of 412 students in the district’s first year. |
