The Espy Watts Brawley house here the late 1960s or early 1970s. Built in 1902, it is located on 23 acres of woods and pastures near downtown Mooresville. Reported to have been ordered from Sears and Roebuck, it was shipped to Mooresville by train and assembled on site piece by piece. Mr. Brawley called the home Lawndale and in later days the description Brawley Mansion was used.
